We start with the job of the page — enquire, enrol, book — then design backwards. Type, spacing, dark cinematic UI in the Rootmedia register if it fits the brand, or a quieter system if it does not. You will not get a generic SaaS template.

Build is real: Webflow for speed, or a Next.js slice if you want it in code. Images, fonts, Core Web Vitals, and a form that actually arrives. Mentors review like a client: is it clear in three seconds on a phone.

The track. You leave with a live site or a staging URL you can put on a reel. That is the product.

Who this is for

You do not need a reel to start — you need the willingness to be marked. This track is built for people who want to work, not collect modules. Typical students:

  • Creators and studios who need a site that matches the reel
  • Designers who want to ship, not only mock
  • Marketers tired of waiting on a developer for copy changes

What you leave with

Every Rootmedia program ends in work you can send. Not a moodboard, not a software exam — pieces with a brief, a deadline and a mentor's notes still in the margins.

  • Design a marketing site in Figma with a real type and colour system
  • Build and ship in Webflow or a Next.js starter
  • Hit basic SEO and performance so the page can rank
  • A live URL in your portfolio, not a screenshot

How the weeks run

Sessions mix floor time and review. You make something every week. Mentors who still take briefs will mark the work as they would a junior's — clear, specific, and aimed at the next version, not a grade. Homework is real: a cut, a lighting plot, a calendar, a reel. If you only wanted theory, this is the wrong room.

Class sizes stay small enough that nobody hides. You will see other students' work, steal what is useful, and learn to talk about pictures without hand-waving. That critique muscle is what agencies notice in an interview.

Gear is taught as a means. We would rather you light well with two lights than own a catalogue. Software follows the same rule: Premiere, After Effects, and whatever the floor is actually using — enough to be dangerous, not a tour of every panel.

Where this course runs

The brief most students here end up building for is a small Kerala business or a creator who has been renting someone else's platform — a studio, a boutique, a clinic. Designing for that audience on a mid-range Android over a patchy connection is a harder constraint than a desktop mockup, and it is the one the course marks against.

Websites — common questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The design half is Figma, and the build half can be Webflow if you would rather not write code. Next.js is there for anyone who wants the code route.

Webflow or Next.js — which do I learn?

Both are covered. Webflow to get a client-ready site shipped quickly, and enough Next.js App Router to build a cinematic marketing page in code. You choose which one your final site uses.

Does the course cover SEO?

Yes — metadata, headings, images, fonts and LCP are a full module, because a site nobody can find is only half built.

What do I have at the end?

A live URL or staging link you can put in a portfolio, not a screenshot of a mockup.
